Four residential towers will be some of the tallest buildings in South India when completed. The client was keen that the common landscape be an asset that would set the development ahead of their competitors. During the initial concept stage we were faced with challenge that much of the landscape area was allocated as emergency vehicle access. Without sufficient space to use planting to for spatial definition we instead introduced a series of feature walls. These walls gave the desired spatial separation and effectively divided the landscape into a series of rooms. The functionality of the rooms was zoned with complementary users grouped together. The feature walls also gave shade through a trellis canopy. In integrating structural elements, like car park vents, and MEP room with the walls we were able to lessen their visual impact, and create a more holistic landscape setting.
