DESIGN
EVERY TIME I DESIGN A PLACE OR SPACE, I ASK MYSELF THESE SIMPLE QUESTIONS – WOULD THIS SPACE MAKE ME HAPPY? WOULD I FEEL SAFE AND COMFORTABLE IN THIS SPACE? IS THIS THE VERY BEST THIS SPACE COULD BE? IF THE ANSWER TO ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS IS NO THEN WE GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.

OUR APPROACH
Communication is at the heart of what we do. Communicating our ideas to clients, loading needs to structural engineers, specification requirements to contractors…. Good communication is about honesty, openness and creating relationships. Collaboration is more and more relevant with highly complex integrated projects. Good design results can’t be achieved working in silos. True collaboration is an iterative process, that covers every stage of a project from concept to completion. There is no substitute for knowledge, every project is a learning experience. Bringing these lessons and the fully depth of knowledge to the table, enhance design and heads off issues before they become problems.

For my earliest days I always wanted to be a landscape architect. It combined my love of nature and my passion for creativity. Studying for my masters degree in Landscape Architecture, only heightened love for the profession. I realised that every project is different, presenting new challenges and opportunities to learn, I would never be bored! I’m lucky that through my chosen profession I have been given the chance to travel and explore the world. I believe that travel broadens the mind, understanding what defines ‘place’ is a key skill for any landscape designer. I feel privileged to be able to do what I do and to this day I get the same buzz see my ideas and scribbles become reality as I did when I first set out on this journey.
